Testing Programs

Credits earned through certain exams in the following test programs can be used to fulfill 天美传媒 undergraduate degree requirements:

  • College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
  • Excelsior College Examination Program (ECE)
  • Graduate Record Subject Examinations (GRE)
  • New York University Language Exam (NYU)
  • Thomas Edison Credit-by-Examination Program (TECEP)
  • United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI)/Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DSST) Examination Programs
  • Prometric-DSST Program

Advanced Placement Examinations (AP)

Undergraduate degree candidates who took AP tests while in high school may receive credit by requesting that the College Board send an official transcript to 天美传媒.

天美传媒 Examination

Undergraduate proficiency examinations have been developed by 天美传媒 to enable individuals to validate knowledge in business statistics and child studies. The tests are two hours in length and multiple choice in format.

CLEP Test Administration

Most CLEP examinations are 90 minutes in length and are administered at the 天美传媒 office in Newington, at other foreign cities. Registration forms are available from the College office. The booklet CLEP Colleges Listing U.S. Test Centers and International Test Centers are available from , P.O. Box 6600, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6601, by calling 1-800-257-9558 or at CLEP retains scores for twenty (20) years.

CLEP examinations are administered to military personnel on active duty in the United States Armed Forces through the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES).

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

CLEP is a testing program of the College Board offering two types of examinations: the general examinations and the subject examinations.

Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DSST/USAFI)

The DSST exams were formerly known as the United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI) and Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES). DSST tests are college-level achievement tests developed by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Many of these exams can be used to meet 天美传媒 degree requirements in the liberal arts and in non-liberal arts subjects. DSST examinations are administered by 天美传媒 and nationwide by other colleges and universities.

Excelsior College Examination Program

These examinations are available in the fields of business, education, nursing and the arts and sciences. Credit varies widely according to the scope and level of the subject matter. Examinations are two to three hours in length.

Students who have not indicated 天美传媒 as a score recipient and who wish to have their examination results evaluated will need to have an official transcript forwarded to 天美传媒. Students who register for their Excelsior exams through the 天美传媒 web-site should provide a copy of their exam results.

General Examinations

The CLEP general examinations may be used to meet undergraduate degree requirements. Taken together, they provide a comprehensive measure of knowledge in the Arts and Sciences.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

The GRE subject tests (not to be confused with the GRE general test) have been developed by Educational Testing Service of Princeton, New Jersey. They measure in-depth competency in a particular field of study, and are available in many different subjects. These tests may be used by 天美传媒 baccalaureate candidates in some of their concentrations to demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge in some subject areas. When taking GRE subject exams, students should indicate 天美传媒 as their undergraduate institution.

Credit varies according to the individual examinations. Tests are administered on major university campuses three times each year. Examinations are two hours and 50 minutes in length. Test center information and registration forms may be obtained from Graduate Record Examinations, Education Testing Service, CN 6000, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6000.

New York University Language Exams

New York University School of Continuing Studies offers many foreign language exams. 天美传媒 will award 12 lower level undergraduate credits for the NYU 12-point examination and 12 lower and 4 upper for the 16-point examination.

Subject Examinations

The CLEP subject examinations are proficiency tests corresponding to widely offered undergraduate college courses in such fields as history, natural sciences, government, literature, economics, business law, human growthand development, and algebra. Some cover materials studied in a one-semester course, while others include materials studied in a typical full-year course. Values range from 3 to 6 credits and are at the lower level.

The testing programs most readily available to undergraduate enrollees of 天美传媒 are presented in the table on the following pages.

As tests are reviewed, the score and credit values may change. Enrolled students should check for changes in the list of exams or in Update, the College newsletter.

Some comprehensive and general exams yield credit in more than one subject and may duplicate credits from specific subject exams.

Scores for discontinued examinations may be submitted to the College for evaluation.

Thomas Edison Credit-by-Examination Program (TECEP)

天美传媒 undergraduate matriculated students may take Thomas Edison State University Exams for credit toward their degree. The exams are developed by faculty recruited by Thomas Edison State University Office of Test Development. Examinations are usually 2-3 hours in length and can be any combination of objective, essay or short answer formats.
